Quartzsite 2016 Recap

Well, this first month of the new year flew right on by... and a busy one it has been! What fun to gather with a nice group of RV friends in Quartzsite for a week! Our 4th January gathering here! Lots of time for taking in the various exhibits in towns, projects, good visits around the campfire, great happy hours and dinners... thanks to all who made this time so special! And, thanks to all who posted photos on various blogs and FB pages for sharing... below are a variety of photos to include the smiling face of each person there, starting with Tom sporting Paul's "hair hat" :)

Some of the guys were interested in seeing how Tom built our windscreen
Then... the enclosure became larger
And we change from solid white panels, to a see-through green enclosure.
SO LOVE the Arizona sunsets!!!

Mid-January

Greetings! Hope the new year is going well for all!

We are currently gathered with friends in Quartzsite, Arizona. A fun time to catch up with those we have not seen since last year, as well as others we are fortunate enough to cross paths with more regularly.

Earlier this month we made an impromptu trip to southwest Colorado and enjoyed a week with our son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons there. Left the motorhome parked in the desert and drove our Trailblazer... looked like we would have a clear weather window for traveling, and had planned to stay about four days but got snowed in during one of the biggest snow storms the Durango area had seen in quite some time. Lucky for us, actually, as Kevin and Kirsten were off work for two days, and the boys were out of school due to the snow. Good times together! We celebrated Kirsten's birthday, enjoyed getting to know Owen's and Logan's new pet Guinea Pigs, and thoroughly enjoyed the time together.
Thank you, Kevin, Logan, Kirsten and Owen for making our visit so special! Look forward to seeing you all again in a few months!

From beautiful snowy Colorado to the beautiful Arizona desert... what a contrast :) So grateful for our experiences in both special places!
Our little "compound" in the desert... 9 rigs, 17 people... Lee, Sue & Paul, Julie & Mike, Marilyn & Brad, Barbara & Wayne, Carol & Steve, Delcie & Freddy, Alice & Robbie, and us. A really great group of fellow travelers!
We are enjoying good times with friends! Will be here in Quartzsite for the remainder of this month before moving on to attend the gem & mineral shows in Tucson in early February.

Best wishes to all! Be well, everyone!

Welcoming The New Year!

Hello to all on this first day of 2016! We hope that you have each enjoyed a very merry Christmas and wonderful holiday season!

We had a quiet holiday in the desert, and enjoyed the beautiful Christmas Full Moon. Tom has been on a couple more rock-hounding field trips and worked/volunteered at the lapidary shop. He is enjoying this time.

So, this is just a short note to check in and send our best wishes your way... will write an update later in the month!

Be well, everyone!  Happy New Year!

Hugs, Dianne & Tom
